There Is Grace For YOU If YOU have had Sorrow upon Sorrow!

“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you” (2 Chronicles 20:12).

Are you facing sorrow upon sorrow? There is grace upon grace for you today, truth that trumps the wretched facts that flood your life. If you are experiencing multiple challenges, if your fiery trials are intensifying, these words of encouragement are for you. Let’s pray and declare the Truth over our circumstances and lives.

Father,

I have no idea what to do. I am overwhelmed by trouble and sorrow. These stubborn challenges in my life don’t seem to budge, though I know You’ve heard every prayer and cherished every tear.

I don’t know what to do, but, Lord, my eyes are on You. I am fixing my gaze on You, for I have studied the circumstances long enough. The more I look at the issues in my life, the bigger they appear. So I look to You. Your perspective will grant me hope again.

“I lift my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1).

Lord, save me from this state of hopelessness. Help me to maintain my faith and hope even when everything is shaking around me. Lord, I will tremble only before You. I will neither tremble nor bow to fear any longer.

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8,9).

It is true, Lord, I am under great pressure, but that pressure will not crush me. I am unaware of an earthly way out of my circumstance, but I refuse despair, for you have ways that are not of this earth. I have suffered greatly, Lord, but am not abandoned by You. I have taken a some painful falls, but I am not destroyed.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? …No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8: 35,37).

I cannot escape or avoid Your love, Lord. These challenges seek to bring me to despair, but I will remember that Your love endures, giving me grace to endure as well. There is nothing and no one that can wrestle me from Your arms of love. Your strength makes me able to withstand these storms and persevere through to the end – to the victory you have secured for me after I win this fight of faith.

“For I am convinced that neither life nor death, never angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height or depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38).

Nothing in this life nor the life to come can keep me from receiving Your love for me. Death cannot keep me from experiencing your love. Angels will not and demons cannot. I am enraptured by your love today. Fears of what tomorrow holds slip away when I consider Your great love for me. There is no earthly nor immortal power that can sever me from the force of Your love. The highest mountain nor the lowest pit cannot hold it back. Nothing in the universe can keep me from experiencing Your love, God, that I have found in Jesus, my Lord.

I will look up towards Your face. All that I need for my help, sustenance, and grace to persevere comes from You and You alone.

So today I lock eyes with the One who adores me, the One Whose eye sparkles with delight because I am His. I walk on, hand in hand with You.

And when I am tempted to fear and to be overwhelmed by all that is against me, I will remember Who is for me. The Creator of the universe if on my side, for I am in Covenant with Him. All You have (which is everything!) is mine; all I have (which isn’t much!) is Yours.

I will not be shaken.

I will not be overcome, for the Overcoming One lives in me.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
