And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, “Lift up now your eyes, and look from the place where you are towards the north, and south, and east, and west: For all the land which you see, I give it to you and to your seed forever”.
–Gen. 13:14-15

When God is ready to respond and get you out from something or someone, He will oftentimes use unusual instructions, unusual people and unique ways in which He directs you towards the desire that He wants to move you to.  You may feel like you’ve been stuck for a long time now and you’ve tried everything and it is just not working for you, child of God, we would like to encourage you today by saying that sometimes, God urges you to choose to exercise your option to change your focus and what you are choosing to look at, spend your time on and where you are going as part of His process of getting you out.  For what you focus on each and every minute is creating something, and if your current circumstances are less than what you want them to be, part of the way that God will often lead you out of it is by getting you to realize that you simply need to change your focus.

Changing your focus is “super easy”; it’s just like changing the channel on a TV using a remote control. Have you ever been watching something on TV and it was something that was terrible, wrong and you just didn’t like it? If you have, did you continue to allow the channel to remain on that station, when you knew what was on that channel was bad? If you’re like us, of course you didn’t, if you didn’t like what was playing on that channel, you simply exercised your option to change the channel, and that is what God wants you to do with what you are choosing to focus on, He wants you to purposely and willing choose to change the channel of what you are focusing on each and every day. If you are willing to do that, you will begin to notice that you feel different, you look different and you are beginning to attract different opportunities,  different people and you will begin to manifest different results. What you focus on the most is usually attracted to you, so from this point forward, God wants you to work on changing your focus. If you are having trouble doing this on a daily basis, we would like to encourage you to invite God through prayer to help you work on changing your focus with His help.

Here are 3 key points about changing your focus;

1. Lift up now your eyes.
To get to the place God has for you, there must be a change of focus from your surroundings of the past and towards the plan of God.

Your focus determines your direction. Focus determines the direction you take and what you do.

Focus on victory and you will begin to gravitate towards it.

Focus on defeat and everything in your life will begin to move in that direction.

Focus on disease and pain and everything in you will move you into more of the same and probably worse. Focus on “by His stripes I was healed” and your life will move in the direction of healing and health.

God wanted Abram to change His focus from where he was at in his surroundings and put his focus on the goal God set before him.

2. Look from the place where you are towards the north, and south, and east, and west.
God was saying, “Get your eyes off what is around you and look at the limitless opportunity I am providing for you.” God was saying, “Look beyond your limitation and see further than you ever have before.” As long as he stayed focused on his present circumstances, he was limited to them and they were keeping him from his destination. If Abram  was ever to be Abraham (the father of many nations), he was going to have to change his focus from the limits of his natural family, friends, property, and circumstances and look to that which is impossible for a man without God. God was telling him that he needed to raise his vision into the realm of the way God sees things and not the way man sees them. To get there, one must look away from where they are presently at, and look towards the supernatural.

3. For all the land which you see, I give it to you.
What you see on the inside, will change what you have on the outside. If you can see it, you can have it. If you see your faith in the limitlessness of God on the inside, then you can speak to the mountain, “Be removed” and it will obey you. You can pray in faith and expect a powerful outcome. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous one avails much. If you begin to see yourself in His righteousness (the righteousness of God in Christ – 2 Cor. 5:21) then you can pray prayers that will change things.

Help me father, to find the right pathway for the destiny that you created me to walk to.  Transform my mind father, so that I don’t waste my time away worrying and thinking about my current situations or my past which are less  than what I would want or like them to be. Guide me daily in the ways you would have me go and I invite you to continue to draw me into a closer relationship with you so that I may discover who you really meant for me to be, in Jesus’s name I ask and pray – Amen!
