Re: Hurricane Ian
Hurricane Ian has left Florida and we thank God that we were blessed enough to be able to survive the hurricane with no damage and no harm coming to any of us in the ministry. Our power stayed on during the storm and only went out briefly but came back on quickly and no one evacuated. We did experience fallen tree limbs that caused no damage, and lots of rain and strong high speed winds that lasted for hours!
Because hurricane Ian interrupted of our scheduled activities and plans our content posting will be changing! There is a lot of debris left behind because of Hurricane Ian. The damage caused by the storm in our neighboring communities has created a need for lots of help and our ministry plans to help! Because of this, posts may be delayed, they may not appear or the amount of posts may be reduced due to unforeseen recent events.
We will reevaluate our posting schedule once a sense of normalcy returns and we have time to focus on reorganizing content posting.
We believe that our prayers for our safety and well being and your prayers for our safety and well being made the difference.
Thank you for your prayers and continued support and the many messages of concern that we have received during this very stressful time. We appreciate it. We have received many messages, letters and calls but due to the huge volume of messages we are unable to respond to them all so we are posting this blog post as a way to answer inquiries.
Like I mentioned in an earlier post no one likes storms. No one likes to have to go through one thing after another. Most of the people I’ve met would like to believe that following God should mean that you get to have a nice happy, unhindered, blessed life just because you love God and you are following God.
But you too may have learned that following God is not all roses and candy. It is not all sweet, happy, easy or blessed all of the time. A lot of the time following God can be very difficult. Trusting God can be hard. Trusting God doesn’t always exempt you from pain, suffering, loss or devastation.
I have found that there are many people preaching, many people speculating, and many people saying they know the “why of what God allows”
But I have found that no 1 knows for sure why God allows hurricanes, storms of life, tragic disappointments, sickness, and loss of life in bad circumstances. God doesn’t always reveal what His plans are or what He is doing although some sources or some folks would have you believe otherwise!
My experiences in life has taught me that as I follow God, when discouraging, hard, and just over broke circumstances happen, I have found that it does no good to question God. It does no good to pout, be upset, or refuse to have faith anymore because of something God did, something God allowed, or something God didn’t do. Because God seldom explains the “why of all things” instead He comforts. God helps! God soothes. And God reminds that when times are hard that He is God and I am not.
And because He is God and I am not, since He is the creator of all things, it is His right to order, govern and allow things, events, loss or any other inappropriate happening according to His plans and purposes for life even if it is not liked or even if it is not the most popular preferred outcome or result that is wanted.
It is my prayer that because you are following our ministry because we are following God that you learned something from the experiences that you just witnessed God put us through.
It is my prayer that my faith and strong belief that God would save us, preserve us and keep all harm from us even though the weather forecasters predicted that the hurricane would directly hit our area and cause widespread damage to us….will inspire you to stand strong for what you believe God will do in your life.
I encourage you to stand strong in the face of adversity, loss, sickness, disease, lack, disunity or disharmony. Stare danger in the face like I did and say, “though He slay me, yet will I trust Him”! Be willing to put yourself in harms way if necessary if your spirit is telling you to trust God in the circumstances, and watch, wait and expect God to do something to save, something to help and something to fix things for you! God is faithful, some kind of way, God can, and God will help!
I hope that you now have the courage and confidence that you may need to stay in your difficulties even if they look hopeless because God is doing something! Keep praying even though it looks like it is not working, it is working, you just don’t see it yet! Keep giving even if you see no harvest, keep trying even if there is no balm in Gilead, a harvest is coming!
Look again even if you have not seen any sudden breakthroughs, no favor in your famines, and no medicine for your sickness, keep trying even if you don’t see anything, don’t get anything, or God doesn’t say anything.
Keep honoring God, keep helping people, keep doing good, even if no one honors you, no one helps you and no one does good to you, because at the end of the day, you will be content in knowing that you did the best you could with good intentions with what God gave you and because of this, eventually, God will reward you! God will help you! God will save you! God will make a way for you and God will shield you from the adversity that was sent to take you out, take you down, or make you drown in the ditch of sorrow!
Message us or use our contact form to let us know how our Ian blog posts encouraged you, inspired you or motivated you to go on with God, stay on with God, or pray on with God! Sometimes the best blessing you can get from God is the blessing of being saved and nothing works.
Beginning again with God,
And staying safe in His refuge,
