Trusting God in times of uncertainty!
Dear child of God, are you tired of the struggles of life? Has this year been really rough and tough for you? Do you find yourself going through one thing after another with no apparent let up and most of the time all of the problems are at the same time or very close to each other? Child of God, if you feel this way, you are not alone! This year so far for us at the ministry has been another very trying year filled with a myriad of problems and setbacks that we did not anticipate or ask for. We’ve found that no one likes it when problems come into their lives because they usually show up without permission and totally change your agenda from what it was to something that you did not want and to something that you did not plan for.
What we’ve learned so far from the myriad of problems that have shown up so far this year in our lives is that long term suffering, unforeseen setbacks and things that happen that we don’t like are not a true indicator of whether or not God loves us and they are not a true indicator of whether or not God’s promises to us will come true in our lives. We’ve learned that our myriad of problems are a result of many other factors that have nothing to do with God’s love for us or His promises to us. So instead of blaming God and getting mad and allowing the devil to win the battle and turn us away from God because of our myriad of problems, we’ve recognized how much we are in need of God, His help and His saving power to win the battles that the myriad of problems have caused us to be in this year in our lives.
If you’ve come to the point of being fed up with it all, we’ve found that oftentimes it is very normal when bad things happen to you to get mad and become very uncertain about God and His motives towards you. It is very normal to wonder just what is going on and to wonder if things are ever really going to be all right again. We know, we’ve been there! Understand that God is always speaking to you and it is only His plans and purposes that will prevail in your life so whatever it is that you are going through now whether you like it or not is all part of God’s plans and purposes for your life and God will speak to you daily to show you the way to go.
If you’re at the point of being uncertain about God, it may be hard for you to fully believe in God and His promises for your life especially if you’ve been waiting a long time and especially if you’ve grown very tired of where you are. Let us encourage you to never be afraid to trust your unknown future to a known God. You may not know for sure how and what God is going to do, but in your times of uncertainty let us remind you to think about all of the things that God’s already done for you. Look at where God has already brought you from, remember how many times He’s already brought you out; remember how many times God has already delivered you. If he did it for you once, don’t you think He’ll do it for you again?
Child of God, some of the things that may have happened to you may have surprised you but they did not surprise God. As a matter of fact, God often allows terrible things to happen as part of His plans for your life to redirect you, to teach you, to grow you and to mature you into the plans and purposes for which He originally created you for. While you may be worried about what you are going through now and how things are going to work out, God is more concerned with the larger picture of your life and how He is working to make everything work together for your good now and work together for your future. It is in this way that that He makes all things work together for your good and His glory.
Although your pain, your tears and your discomfort matter to God, this light momentarily affliction is preparing you for the greater that God has for you in your future. So dear child of God, we encourage you to not curse the light afflictions that God allows in your pathway but try and embrace them and ask God to help you understand them so that you can work with God in accomplishing His purposes in your circumstances. For it is when God’s purposes in your circumstances have been accomplished that you will walk out of your pits of despair into the newness of the greater that God has in store for you!
Are you ready to walk into the newness of God’s greater that He has in store for you? If so, join us in this simple prayer;
Dear God,forgive me for doubting you and your plans and your purposes for my life. I do remember all of the many times that you helped me, delivered me and saved me. I so want the greater that you have for me and I am asking you to work mightily in my current circumstances to fix what is broken, heal what needs to be healed, and to save what needs to be saved. Help me to have a better attitude and to be able to experience the joy and love that comes when I walk closer to you in a right relationship. I invite your 1 and only son Jesus Christ to come into my life to become my personal Lord and Savior to walk with me as I wait upon you for the greater that you are preparing me for! -Amen
