God wants you to use what you’ve got to get what you want…

How many times have you said, “I would do that but I don’t have enough money, I don’t have enough time, I am too old, I am too tired, I don’t have enough talent, I would lose weight but it’s too hard, I would serve God but I don’t know what He wants, I would go to church but I am working, or that’s my only day off, I would read the Bible or pray more but I don’t understand the Bible or I tried it and it just doesn’t work for me? Can you relate to any of those statements? Many times we are faced with what are true limitations but many times it is easier and more comfortable for us to come up with excuses rather than make a life change. It takes more effort to face a limitation and overcome it than it does to make an excuse. Facing a limitation involves a lot such as the following:

1. Overcoming fear

2. Using what we currently do have to overcome the limitation

3. Risking failure

4. Treading into the unknown

5. Potentially suffering public and private humiliation

Facing an excuse is easy, you may come up with an excuse and then if you’re like most people, you will validate it to yourself and others as to why you will not do anything other than what you are currently doing to overcome your current situations/limitations. It is virtually impossible to keep doing the same things over and over again especially if it is not producing the type of results that you want and get different results. To get different results requires that you try different techniques which often involves overcoming what many could consider to be limitations, such as not enough money, not enough opportunities, being too tired etc. We all know that when it is something that we really want, we will find the time, borrow the money or develop the energy necessary to achieve what it is that we really want. With that being said, consider using what you have to begin a new and fresh relationship with God today. Cast off the clothes of yesterday and walk into your new garments that God has for you called your “Today”. For your today is a unique and priceless gift from God that is meant for you to live fully in each and moment that God gives you using everything you’ve got to create who God has created you to be! In order to walk into the new garments that God has for you, you’ve got to be willing to walk out of the old garments called yesterday. Child of God, if you will make the decision today to use what you’ve got, God will show you how to use what you’ve got to get what you want if it is part of His perfect plan for your life!

No excuses, no limitations, come as you are. Forget the past, the many broken promises, and the heated arguments or not so pleasant thoughts. God wants you to use what you currently have rather than focusing on what you don’t have. If you don’t have enough money, pray and ask God for new ways to increase your income.  If you are tired all of the time, find the time to exercise and ask God to help you make more healthy food choices,  if you are sick and fed up with your job, decide that you are responsible for the choices that you make in your life and choose to start looking for a new job.  If you really want to read the Bible, start with reading a verse a day, a great site to visit is: http://www.biblegateway.com/ the site lists several different versions of the Bible to help you with your spiritual walk. For anyone who has a hard time understanding the Bible, the New Living Translation version will be best for you and will help you come to love and understand God’s word because it’s easier to understand.

The point is use what you’ve got. Circumstances and situations will never ever be exactly perfect, so rather than complaining and focusing on what is not working, what is not going right and what you don’t have make a quality decision to use what you’ve got. God wants you to use what you’ve got and use it wisely. Once you are able to do this and do this successfully, you will begin to experience and marvel in the joy and peace that God wants you to have.  Once you manifest this joy and peace that God wants you to have the many blessings that the Lord wants to shower upon you will begin to fill your life. Material things and outer distractions will never ever truly satisfy you, only God Himself is able to fill the holes and the voids in your life, and He can fill those holes and voids in your life when you decide to use what you’ve got.

If you are really ready to use what you’ve got and work with God to get what you want if it is part of His perfect plan for your life, join us in this simple prayer;

Dear God, You have abundantly blessed me beyond what I have been thankful for, so today I want to thank you for everything that you’ve done and for everything that you’re going to do. Please forgive me for complaining about the trials and tribulations of my life. Help me be content and help me learn to use what I’ve got to create what you want me to have. Help me not murmur and complain about limitations which I feel limit me, but help me to rise above them and change my focus so that I can use what I’ve got and obtain your very best for me. By using what I’ve got and by operating in a spirit of thankfulness and joy, I understand that I will not only be pleasing you but I will make you happy because I am finally satisfied with what I’ve got. Unveil my eyes dear God as I read the Holy Bible because I hunger and thirst to know more about you and more of what your Holy word says. In Jesus name, I ask and pray. Amen.

For difference making results, consider inviting Jesus to help you use what you’ve got to get what you want if it’s part of God’s plan for your life!
